What's on the plate for next season's Survivor?

Survivor - original logoOh, I'm not talking about the sickening food challenge we see each season on the show, nor am I trying to dismiss the current season of Survivor: China. I'm talking Survivor 16! I'm talking the rumors, the realities, the casting, and the location.

Yes, true Survivor believers, the news has been circulating. It's hard to keep secrets these days, so much more difficult than the days when Richard Hatch had won the first season and they knew for months, no one said a word. For me, it's better because knowing spoilers ahead of time whets my appetite -- for the show, not for the gross food challenge, of course. Rumors have been circulating it will be an All Stars version. Is it? If you want to know, read on.

Now, with the exception of one thing I know for sure -- a key fan favorite Survivor previous cast member has recently gone on a mysterious leave of absence from his workplace -- I've gathered this information from sources throughout the web. In particular, realitytvspoiler.com is a great source. I can't guarantee their accuracy, so please don't sue me if I'm wrong! But other spoiler sources have been coming up with much the same information. Adding what I know (as mentioned above), the main facts are true.

Here's the main skinny:

  • Season 16 will indeed be another All Stars show.
  • We'll have back-to-back seasons this year. Filming of 16 has started.
  • The show returns to Palau, the location for season 10, one of the most popular seasons ever.
  • My personal source information is -- Yau-Man Chan from Survivor Fiji recently started a leave of absence from his workplace. Of course, it could be unrelated to anything. (Yeah, suuure!)
Here's the casting as listed at Reality TV Spoiler (linked above):
  • From Survivor 9: Vanuatu: Julie Berry (5th place finish, Jeff Probst's love interest? Hmmm), Eliza Orlins - 4th place, Ami Cusack - 6th place finish.
  • From Survivor 10: Palau: Katie Gallagher - finished 2nd, Ian the Dolphin Trainer Dude Rosenberger - finished 3rd, Jenn Lyon - 4th place, Coby Archa - finished 9th.
  • From Survivor 11: Guatemala: Fishmonger Lydia Morales - finished 4th, doorman Judd Sergeant IV - finished 6th, Gary Ex-Dallas Cowboy Hogeboom - finished 7th.
  • From Survivor 12: Panama: Terry Dietz - finished 3rd, Cirie Fields - finished 4th, Shane Powers - finished 5th. (Please let Shane not be there, I beg of you!)
  • From Survivor 13: Cook Islands: Ozzy Lusth (yay!) - finished 2nd, Parvati Shallow (boo) - finished 6th, Jonathan Penner - finished 7th.
  • From Survivor 14: Fiji: Yau-Man Chan (but I knew that) - finished 4th, Michelle Yi - finished 10th.
  • From Survivor 15: China: Courtney Yates (don't yell at me, I'm just the messenger) and James Clement.
Survivors ready? What do you think of the cast? Anyone you don't want to see? Or, someone not on the list you'd like to see have another shot at the million?
